Effective Barriers

Roadside barriers are used to protect traffic from roadside obstacles or hazards. They are used with medians, to prevent vehicles from colliding with hazards within the median.
Road barriers are designed to keep vehicles within the roadway and prevent vehicles from colliding with dangerous obstacles such as boulders, sign supports and trees. They are installed at the roadside to prevent errant vehicles from traversing steep slopes or entering deep water.
While barriers are normally designed to minimize injury to vehicle occupants, injuries do occur in collisions with traffic barriers. To make sure they are safe and effective, they undergo extensive simulated and full scale crash testing before they are approved for general use.Hence, testing programs are designed to determine the performance limits of traffic barriers and provide an adequate level of protection to road users.
What are they made of?
Polymer road barriers are made from high quality UV- stabilised polyethylene material which are highly safe in case of accidents for the vehicle as well as the passengers. The simple moulded system allows road barriers to be tightly interlocked for extra strength. They are extremely light in weight and easy to handle without crane thus saving on loading/unloading cost. It controls the weight by filling water or sand available in differentcolourslike black, white, red, and yellow. They are maintenance-free.
Common sites for installation of road barriers
·         Bridge ends.
·         Near steep slopes from roadway limits.
·         At drainage crossings or culverts where steep or vertical drops are present.
·         Near large signs/illumination poles or other roadside elements which may pose hazards.
How important are road barriers?
The road safety barriers are especially designed to increase safety level on the roads and highways by protecting the drivers and the vehicles in cases of accidents.
·         Light weight: Plastic barriers are made of a light weight polyethylene, the lighter design makes these barriers very portable and a great option for temporary work sites and events.
·         Increased safety on the roads: Safety road barriers are placed on one side of the road to prevent out of control vehicles from getting off the road and crashing into road side objects.
·         Low maintenance: Only minimal maintenance is required for road safety barriers. They are durable and strong enough to withstand high impacts.
·         Customizable: In addition to the colourful plastic, these barriers are made to accommodate lights, signage, and reflectors for added visibility. Custom logos can also be incorporated into the design during the tooling process.
