Importance of Road barriers

Road traffic intensity is constantly increasing and increase in speed limits is leading to an increase in the number of accidents. This leads to improved road infrastructure system. Road barriers are one of the ways used to prevent vehicles colliding with each other and to reduce the severity of the accidents. By which the number of accidents occurring will also be reduced. Road barriers also help in isolating traffic, preventing other roadside objects, prevent animals from disturbing the traffic etc.
These barriers are completely based on the technical requirements. The primary goal of the barrier is to restrain vehicles from a collision and slowly dissipate kinetic energy as much as possible to the barrier surface. This would control the speed the vehicle colliding and thus reduce the damages of the accident. In the same time, it also saves the lives of the public who are not responsible for the accident.
In case of collision, the barriers should not be loose from the supports and be thrown upon the roadway where it may again collide with another vehicle. So depending on the hazard level of the road, barriers should have different prevention levels.
Containment levels:
Barrier prevention level is also known said as barrier containment level. It can range from low to very high. The barrier containment levels are decided by the factors like driving speed, traffic intensity, terrain, and other criteria. If barriers are required for temporary safety, the containment levels of the barriers can be reduced as required, for example, low containment level barriers are required for sites for roadside works. Concrete barrier’s composition can be done making it resistant to impacts and absorbing part of vehicle energy. Barriers’ safety criteria were developed primarily for cars and heavier vehicles where two-wheelers were not into consideration.
Report:
But later surveys revealed a report that a motorcyclist is 15 times more likely to be killed than people in a car. During collisions there are number more of fatalities. sSo it is important for the structure of the road barriers to absorb energy as much as possible.

A road barriers’ quality can save the lives of thousands of people by reducing the number of accidents and the severity of the accidents. Thus opting for high-quality road barriers is more important task here. One of the high-quality road barrier manufacturers is the PolyconBahrain. They are the manufacturers of a wide range of road barriers. Check out the link for further information:

Rotomolding and its industrial significance

What is rotational molding?
Rotational molding is a manufacturing process used for processing inter alia Polyethylene or Polypropylene in plastic products. Examples are products like buoys, water and/or fuel tanks, toys, traffic guidance, fenders etc. Polycon Bahrain caters to all your rotomolding needs.

How does the rotational molding process works?
Theprocess of rotational molding consists of four main phases. It usually starts with filling the mold with powdered resin. The inside of this mold is the negative of the final product. the molds are specifically developed for each customer because each product is different.
After melting of the powder, and after formation of it around the walls, the mold’s cooling process can be initialized.
The cooling usually takes place in the subsequent phase in which huge fans blow air through the mold walls. When the product is solidified enough, it needs to be removed from the mold and the rotational molding process shall be completed, and there is now a produced plastic product.
What are the advantages of rotational molding?
The rotational moldingprocess usually has tremendous advantages in which nearly every plastic products partially or fully closed, can be produced. This is done with the highest possible tangibility and atefficiently low costs-

·         High level of flexibility and freedom in design
·         Low investment costs compared to vacuum molding or blow molding.
·         Batch sizes starting at 100 units per year.

Tolerances are harder to hold than regular injection molding. Surface finishes are not as good. There will be plenty of flashes that may need to be trimmed. Roto-molded parts are usually thick and hollow.
You'd probably want to texture the mold (shot blast or sand blast would be cheapest). The crisp corners on the ends wouldn't come out well either (they'd probably load from an end). The molder would probably run a 1/4 round router along it to get rid of flash. And you'd also need a breather hole in it somewhere. So it wouldn't be 100% enclosed.
ABS would be a good material to use. If you can't extrude then I'd look at Vacuum Forming the whole thing in parts and fabricating together.

Road Barriers

Nowadays, with lots of cars, motorcycles or others vehicles on the road, there is always a chance of having an accident. With a person loses a bit of concentration, it may happen that she/ he suffers fatal accidents. Hence, several rules, regulations are put by government or civic authorities make the journey of people safe on the  road. Thus, road barriers are put on road to keep vehicles on path unrestricted by any physical barriers or separation to move laterally. It prevents them from colliding with dangerous obstacles such as boulders, sign supports, trees etc. or from traversing steep slopes or entering deep water.
Installation:- road barriers are installed within a median of high ways divided to prevent errant vehicles to enter opposite lane. It is also installed on the bridge ends, near steep slopes from roadway limits, at drainage crossings where steep or vertical drops or present or near places where large signs/illumination poles stand.
Types of barriers:- road barriers can be categorised on the basis of their functions and the deflection that they can put when a vehicle crashes into them.
Barrier function:- it is used to protect traffic from roadside  obstacles or hazards such as sloop steep enough to tip your vehicle over onto its side or roof, fixed objects like bridge pillars and bodies of water.
  1. Median barriers- it prevents vehicle to cross over a median and strike a vehicle coming from opposite lawn.
  2. Bridge barriers- it prevents the vehicle from tipping over the side of a bridge and falling onto railroad or roadway below.
  3. Work zone barriers- it is used to protect traffic from hazards in work zone. Temporary concrete barriers and water filled barriers are types of work zone barriers.
Barrier stiffness:- traffic barriers undergo intensive crash testing before they are approved for general use to make sure barriers are safe.
  1. Flexible barriers- it includes cable barriers and post corrugated guide rail systems.
  2. Semi-rigid barriers- it is equipped with patented absorbtionlink anchoring technology and includes box beam guide rail, heavy post blocked out corrugate guide rail and three- beam guide rails.
  3. Rigid barriers- it is made of reinforced concrete.

Different Types of Planters

Looking for polyethylene planters for your home? At Polycon Bahrain, we deal in a variety of planters of suitable for homes and commercial spaces

Planters allows one to enjoy the simple and natural beauty of flowers and the fresh taste of the favorite vegetables. These make it possible even without the need of a proper garden and  space. One can create their own custom designed garden using planters of various shapes, colors, materials and sizes.

Traditional Planters

Traditional planters include planters made out of materials such as plastic, terra-cotta, wood, stone and wrought iron. Planters can add their own charm and beauty to any outdoor garden or indoor decor. But like all other things, these planters also have their own advantages and disadvantages. For example, some planters are relatively expensive and require regular maintenance to prevent rotting, while they can add a totally different charming touch to the surroundings. Some are typically lighter and easy to move around, while some planters are usually stationary.

Specialty Planters

Some planters are custom designed for particular types of plants in mind. For example, some planters are made with small pockets for each plant. This is done usually for strawberries and other annual plants which have shallow roots and due to these pockets, the roots are prevented from fighting for water and nutrients.

Novelty Planters

Novelty planters are made of various different materials and come in various unorthodox and decorative shapes. These are shaped like animals or busts. Novelty planters are usually used to hold flowers and are shaped like bicycles and animals. Small novelty planters offer very little room for plant growth and are mostly used for decoration but shallow-rooted plants grow well in these confined spaces.

Recycled Items

Recycled planters are another type that are evolving in home decor. With a little imagination, a number of old household things can be used as planters. This also helps in lesser garbage and is eco-friendly. Some common items used as planters include old toddler beds, leaky buckets, bathtubs old rubber boots, and teapots etc. You can also visit a junkyard to get the things that you might require to create a recycled planter. You can put the things around your home that you would otherwise throw out in good use as planters. Just make sure that the item has good drainage and can accommodate the plant properly.

Polycon Bahrain specialise in making planters from different materials for corporate houses and industries and supply these at a reasonable price. Visit their website-http://www.polyconbahrain.com - to know more about them and checkout their latest products.
