Water is a precious commodity, and maintaining the storage area is indeed an important issue. However, when it comes to polyethylene water tanks, people tend to get a little bit lazy.  Of course, it is  not really their fault. The ease and durability of these tanks generally make people forget that daily maintenance is an essential part of conserving their properties and retaining its long lasting property.
Here are a few tips on how to clean and maintain your polyethylene water storage tank properly:-
The first step to be followed when cleaning a water storage tank is to shut off the entire water supply. The shut-off valve is sometimes  located along your water supply pipe near the water tank.
Next,  we  open the drain valve on the water tank and then drain out all the water from the tank. You need to be patient as this will definitely take some time, especially if the water tank is large.
Now you remove the access hatch on the top of the water tank and then enter the storage tank through the access hole and wash the inside of the tank completely using a pressure washer. First, use only water  and then add detergent  to spray the interior of the storage tank
Add a detergent of your choice to the pressure washer. The interior of the tank will get cleaned thoroughly, but if it is required you may also have to clean the exterior part of the tank so that any cracks or damage can be observed and detected. Remember to rinse the water tank properly using clean sterile water. Now that you have obtained a completely clean tank, you should close the final drain valve and refill the tank and put the access hatch across the opening.
Utilize the daily inspections to check what is the condition of the tank and schedule for a cleaning session based on it.
Do a circumspect circulation check to see whether the valves are in working order.

Plastic water tanks vs Galvanized steel tanks: Which to use when

Polycon Bahrain is one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of world class polyethylene water storage tanks suitable for commercial and home uses

How about, we review some practical considerations that influence a plastic (polyethylene) to water storage tank, rain water tank or fire suppression tank to be a better decision for a great many people as compared the other popular option that is Galvanized steel tanks:

Plastic water tanks are lightweight and can frequently be moved (purge) by hand into position, which is a preference on harsh territory. Steel tanks must be extended into position.

Another favorable position of the polyethylene water tanks is that lighter weight is much lower shipping cost when contrasted with an overwhelming electrifies steel tank. Given the present fuel costs, this can add up to an enormous investment funds.

  • Plastic water tanks arrive in a significantly more extensive assortment of sizes and limits.
  • Plastic water tanks can be set on pretty much any level surface without anything sharp underneath. Stirred steel tanks require costly steel rings and a stone base to shield them from sitting in rust-inciting water.
  • Plastic water tanks come in a wide range of colors, which helps the water tanks mix into the scene/condition better, in addition to having UV-inhibitors in the material to battle the impacts of daylight corruption.
  • Plastic water tanks won't rust after some time and must be replaced, which is one of its best points of interest. (Remember that steel tanks are for the most part not secured by guarantee for ust.)
  • If a plastic water tank is coincidentally punctured, it is simpler to repair.
  • While plastic water tanks may dissolve in a genuine wildfire, in most such flames steel tanks may buckle from uneven warming (even past being debilitated by erosion) and solid tanks may detonate (as the dampness substance of the solid flashes to steam).

Having said that, there are times when galvanized steel tanks bode well for water storage as compared to polyethylene water tanks:

• If you are required to have in abundance of 15,000 gallons of water and just have space for one tank; plastic water tanks for the most part are just made as large as 15,000 gallons. This preferred standpoint can be counteracted on the off chance that you have a ton of room on your property and can buy more than one substantial tank.

• When you are required to utilize a steel tank for fire suppression by your neighborhood government office.
