maintain your polyethylene water storage tank properly:-
• The
first step to be followed when cleaning a water storage tank is to shut off the
entire water supply. The shut-off valve is sometimes located along your water supply pipe near the
water tank.
• Next, we
open the drain valve on the water tank and then drain out all the water
from the tank. You need to be patient as this will definitely take some time,
especially if the water tank is large.
• Now
you remove the access hatch on the top of the water tank and then enter the
storage tank through the access hole and wash the inside of the tank completely
using a pressure washer. First, use only water
and then add detergent to spray
the interior of the storage tank
• Add
a detergent of your choice to the pressure washer. The interior of the tank
will get cleaned thoroughly, but if it is required you may also have to clean
the exterior part of the tank so that any cracks or damage can be observed and
detected. Remember to rinse the water tank properly using clean sterile water.
Now that you have obtained a completely clean tank, you should close the final
drain valve and refill the tank and put the access hatch across the opening.
